So you're looking for more...
This website - the games, the easter eggs and the humor are meant to be fun, but it is all also an exposition of my technical skills as well as those aforementioned people skills - unless you are not entertained, in which case, maybe we should just chat?
I give a brief description of my work history in the next section, and after providing ample notice of resignation from my last role, I took a break to focus on my family and myself. This website is one of those things I've been doing for myself.
Work
I've worked various private, then public, then private sector roles, all centered foremost on direct customer service/satisfaction and involving being comfortable working in the box or stepping out of it as needed. Titles are often misleading when you consider someone's "experience", and I must confess I haven't had a title that fully encompassed the scope my role at any point - there has always been "more" to it under the hood, so to speak.
I started fresh out of high school while simultaneously attending college full time and working full time with a file scanning clerk role at a law firm that led to rapid advancement and serving as legal assistant to real estate and civil practice attorneys for a bit.
I then went to the local government public sector and worked with basic tech team support (for my office, our customers and other separately operating offices in the building), networking, system admin and on-prem customer software support while serving as filing clerk or certified document indexer when those teams needed help and being the accounting team of 1 with a reputation for flawless external audit for ten high value accounts.
Then I changed to another team and was project manager and review/permitting coordinator for up to 30 active development projects while providing internal and external SaaS consutlant, analytic, reporting, configuration/build, and implementation services including setting up a Jira ticketing service to help with tracking the software needs.
Next, because I had discovered a true passion for the technology work over the clerical, I went back to private sector to be able to focus on helping more and really digging into the technical weeds with that SaaS software.
Fun
I enjoy being outdoors and hiking, biking, kayaking, walking, camping or just lounging in a hammock. If we get to combine them all, well that's even better. I'm not athletic by any means, but I'll give anything that interest me a shot. Some things just come a bit more naturally or easily than others!
I also enjoy watching cinema (live action, big screen or at home), cosplay building, cosplay adventures (ren faires, conventions, etc.), gaming (console, pc, tabletop or RPG), puzzles (jigsaw, brain-teaser, mystery/who-done-it, escape rooms, etc.), reading fiction, writing fiction, or just finding learning opportunities of all sorts ("how is that made?", "how does that work?", "how does one do this?", etc.).
Sometimes I get in a creative flow where I might craft all sorts of mixed medium art projects - from basic painting or sculpting to super elaborate projects involving all sorts of materials. I have made things ranging from kid themed crafts, to figurines of people to purses and handbags to full character cosplays.
When I just don't know what I want to do, my faithful fallback is to quietly just watch the world around me and daydream. Our world has a lot of ugly to distract us constantly, but if you just pause and look around there is just so much beauty, especially in the small things we forget to notice.
However! All these things have to fit around the daily "must dos" of adulting and inclusive of the needs of family (the biological sort, the kindred spirit sort and the furbaby sort).
